Scene Makers Q&A: Seebeck's Karaoke Path

This week on Scene Makers, we sit down with Seebeck, a rising star in the karaoke scene, to discuss their journey, their love for the art, and what advice they have for aspiring karaoke singers.

Scene Makers: Welcome, Seebeck, thanks for joining us today!

Seebeck: Thanks for having me! It's great to be here.

Scene Makers: So, let's start with the basics. When did you first discover your love for karaoke?

Seebeck: I’ve always loved singing, but it wasn't until I was 16 and went to a karaoke night with friends that I really got hooked. I sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, and the whole room went wild. It was an amazing feeling, and from that moment on, I was hooked.

Scene Makers: That's a great story! And "Bohemian Rhapsody" is certainly a challenging song to tackle. What other artists or songs inspire your karaoke choices?

Seebeck: I really enjoy singing classic rock, especially anything from the 70s and 80s. But I'm open to anything with a good melody and a catchy tune. I love experimenting with different genres, from pop to country to even some hip hop. It's all about having fun and getting the crowd involved!

Scene Makers: You've mentioned the crowd. What's the most important thing for you when performing karaoke?

Seebeck: Honestly, it’s all about connection. Connecting with the audience, feeling the energy they give back, and knowing I'm making them feel good through my singing. It's about sharing the music and the experience.

Scene Makers: You're clearly passionate about karaoke! What advice would you give to someone who's thinking about trying it out for the first time?

Seebeck: Just go for it! Don’t worry about being perfect. Pick a song you know and love, and let loose! Karaoke is all about having fun and expressing yourself. The more you sing, the more comfortable you'll become. And remember, everyone starts somewhere.

Scene Makers: That's great advice. You've obviously come a long way since that first "Bohemian Rhapsody." What are your goals for the future of your karaoke career?

Seebeck: I’m excited to see what’s next. I’m always looking for new ways to push myself and learn new songs. And I'm hoping to connect with more people through the magic of karaoke. It's a truly unique experience that brings people together.
